1. Services

Plainworks ("we," "our," or "the Service") provides Japanese localization services for software, websites, and digital content. Our goal is to provide high-quality, manual translation based on a developer’s perspective and power-user experience.

2. Quotation and Contract

• After a user submits a request via our form, we will review the details and provide a formal quotation (including price and estimated delivery time).

• The contract is officially formed when the user completes the payment through Stripe.

3. Payment

• All payments are processed through Stripe.

• Payment must be made in full before the work begins.

4. Cancellation and Refunds

• Due to the digital nature of our services, all sales are final. We do not offer refunds once the payment is completed and work has commenced.

• If we are unable to complete the project due to our own circumstances, a refund will be issued for the uncompleted portion of the work.

5. Revisions

• We offer free corrections for clear typos, omissions, or translation errors reported within 5 days of delivery.

• Significant changes to the source material or requests for a complete shift in tone/style after the work has started may incur additional fees.

6. Intellectual Property and Portfolio

• The copyright of the translated content is transferred to the user upon full payment.

• Portfolio Usage: We may request to feature the project name and logo as a case study on our website (plainworks.tokyo). However, we will only do so after obtaining your explicit prior consent. We respect your confidentiality.(optional)

7. Limitation of Liability (Disclaimer)

• While we strive for the highest quality, we do not guarantee that the translation is error-free or perfectly suited for a specific purpose (e.g., legal compliance or sales growth).

• In no event shall Plainworks be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including but not limited to loss of profits, data corruption, or legal disputes) arising from the use of the delivered content.

• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the user for the specific project.

8. Prohibited Content

We reserve the right to refuse service for projects containing illegal content, hate speech, infringement of third-party rights, or content that violates public order and morals.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. The updated terms will become effective as soon as they are posted on this website.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Japan.
